1)Stretch the background to the size you want. Next, use the paint bucket tool to fill in the background color. I chose black. White will not work.

2)Go to Image, then Draw Opaque, and make sure it is NOT checked. Click Edit, Select All, then Copy it. Press File, New.

3)Color this new page any colors you like. (This will be the new background colors/pattern under your text.) Just hit Edit, Paste, and Presto you new, cool banner will be ready to display!
